Last week I told you about Dominant Color Characteristics and the category you belong in based on those dominant color traits. This week I want to share with you the colors that are your best colors based on the category that is best suiting for you.
You may have to refer back to last week’s blog post to remember which category you fit into. Of course, remember the best way to determine your Dominant Color Characteristic category is to have me conduct a personal Style Analysis and use the test drapes on you.
If you put yourself in the CLEAR category, you are going to look best in the brightest colors out there. You have a high contrast in your coloring (usually darker hair with bright eyes) so clothing combinations of dark and light together are going to look fabulous on you. For example, black and white or navy and lime green are great contrasting colors together. You will want to stay away from browns and beiges which will make your skin look dull and lifeless. Always go with the vibrant colors instead.
If you put yourself in the WARM category, you are going to look best in all the shades of autumn. In the spring and summer you will just choose softer colors in those same shades. Brown is going to be a much better neutral for you than black. Olive green is going to be a fabulous color with your beautiful red hair.
If you put yourself in the COOL category, you are going to look best in colors with a blue undertone. You will need to stay away from browns or muted colors. Stick with bright or light colors and no yellow undertones. A beautiful silver haired lady always looks great in royal blue or hot pink.
If you put yourself in the DEEP category you are going to look best in the deep, dark and rich hues. You will want to stay away from the pastels. Go with bold colors to match your usually darker, bolder hair and eyes. Emerald green or dark purple are going to be fabulous choices for you.
If you put yourself in the LIGHT category because of your blonde hair and pale ivory coloring, you are going to look best in the lighter color shades. The darker colors are going to make you look older so you will want to stay away from those. Gray and camel are going to be good neutrals for you paired with beautiful aquas, pinks and lavenders.
If you put yourself in the SOFT category and you have medium hair and eyes, you are going to look your best when in the softer shades of clothes. Black is not going to be a good color for you as it will wash you out. Choose a medium brown as your neutral instead. You don’t want to go too dark or too light but stick with beautiful soft shades of peach, coral, lavender or turquoise instead.
As you can see, there are lots of beautiful colors for you to choose from whatever your Dominant Color Characteristics are but you are going to look your very best when you choose the shades closest to the ones I have outlined here.
